"Eternal Vows" & Eternal Destiny" The Ruby Ring Series by Chrissy Peebles~Gorgeous Books for a Lush, Lazy Weekday Escape!

"Never marry a stranger...even if he is a drop-dead gorgeous immortal king.
Never pretend to be a princess.
And most importantly...never slip on an ancient wedding ring you know nothing about.
Sarah Larker returns to a cave where her sister disappeared ten years earlier. She walks through a portal and is mistaken for a runaway princess on the run by a dangerous immortal king in medieval times. Her plan is bold as well as daring—become this princess, wed the king, and slip on an ancient wedding ring that will unlock the portal back home. Then find her sister and run as fast as she can out of Dodge. But taking on the identity of Princess Gloria comes along with dangerous consequences; and slipping on the ruby ring comes with an even higher price."

"Sarah is forced to face the reality of what it means to be an Immortal. While trying to fight the attraction she feels toward her immortal husband, she fights to save the ones she loves."

Miss Chrissy Peebles~Our Famous Author:
Chrissy Peebles, a practicing nurse, has always loved reading and writing fantasy from the earliest age she can remember. She plotted every single twist she could think of during bedtime stories for her children. When her little ones begged for more adventures, she felt confident enough to let her overeager imagination and sense of humor spill out into her first novel. She lives in Ohio with her husband, two young kids, one hamster, three dwarf hamsters and cat. When she's not taking the kids to Little League soccer, basketball, or baseball, she loves to snap photos as her favorite hobby.

The Dame Will Now Attempt To Tame The Spirited Explorer Who Is Chrissy!

Hello, Chrissy. Welcome to A Bookish Libraria!
Thanks Deb! I’m thrilled and honored to be here.
I’m so delighted you’ve agreed to allow us to get to know you and your book better. I have several questions!
Awesome! Fire away. : )
          1)  First of all, please tell us a special something about what makes you "tick."  When   you aren't writing, what are you doing, aside from being a mom?
I’m an avid photographer. I love to take creative pictures…to create something beautiful. And it’s all about getting that ‘perfect’ shot. I can spend hours trying to capture that one unique photograph. There’s something magical about being able to capture images of family and friends and reviewing memories over and over. I also love nature photography too. I fell in love with all the mystery and possibilities nature has to offer from glorious sunsets and fantastic winter scenes to breathtaking landscapes!

2)  You chose a specific genre, a place and time to write about, what made you choose it?

Fantasy is my favorite genre to write because I've always had a vivid imagination. I love it so much because I can weave or spin any storyline I want, create my own fantasy world and characters, and let my imagination spill over. There’s nothing more fun than that! And I love putting modern day people in extraordinary circumstances.

3)  Bronte or Austen?

Wow, those are two names of my favorite 19th century "chick lit" gals. Jane Austen’s book are full of wit and humor. I love how sweet they are but then again, I love Bronte’s tortured and tragic passion. So I think it comes down to Austen = humor and Bronte = passion. I’m going to go with fancy dresses and that dashing Mr. Darcy.

4)  Hemingway or Hawthorne?

I think it’d have to be Hemingway because I loved his unique prose style. He could take a simple story and make it so deep and complex.

5) In your opinion, what makes a book a great one?

It doesn’t matter what genre you are reading. There’s only one thing that matters…the story needs to grab you by page one and never let go.

6)  Which author(s) most influenced your love of books from childhood?

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. I just loved them so much!

7)  Read any good books in the past 6 months?

I read a fantastic book called Tempest by Julie Cross. Highly recommended! I also finished another awesome book just the other day called, Airel (The Airel Saga, Book 1) by Aaron Patterson and Chris White. It’s so witty and well written with such a unique plot. I LOVED it!

8) Choose 4 guests from any era for dinner. Who would they be and what would you choose for a topic of conversation?

1. William Wallace. He was a Scottish knight who led a resistance to the English military occupation of Scotland during significant periods of the Wars of Scottish Independence
2. Amelia Earhart. I would love to hear about her flying adventures around the world!3. Albert Einstein. I heard he burned files before he died. What were they?
4. Plato. I’d ask him if Atlantis really existed?

What would the topic of conversation be? We’d discuss who we’d think should win the next American Idol. And what do they think of the judges this year?     LOL   Quite an entertaining dinner party!  :]   Good thing Simon's not judging this year, they'd all probably have a lot to say about him!!

         9)  Which of your characters is most like you?

Probably Casey in Agartha’s Castaway. I fell for my best friend too. He was hot!

For my readers who aren't familiar, "Agratha's Castaway" is about a group of YA's who
take a vacation only to be swept up onto an island of another world filled with dinos,
UFO's and other oddities!!  Chrissy has a 2nd book in that series that's just come out!

        10) Worst habit you have?

Drinking too much caffeine.     Seriously?   How boring, Chrissy!!!  :P

        11) How much research did you do before and during writing?

I’m always looking up facts. However, I write fantasy so I can make up whatever I want.
        : ) (Just kidding)

       12) Tell us a secret about your book we wouldn’t otherwise know, please!

Eternal Vows was started in Nov. 2010 as a NaNoWriMo project. Nov. 1st came and I just
started writing. I didn’t worry about quality. Just quantity. I then spent the next six
months cleaning it up and editing the heck out of it. And then wrote book 2.

Sometimes the best things come when we aren't thinking too much about it, they say!

       13) Where are your books for sale?

Now The Dame Will Have Her Say:Chrissy Peebles's books are irrepressibly fun to read.  Honestly, I sank back in my chair and just let the story take me away for the afternoon; and, then I wanted more.  These are ebooks that you can have at the touch of a finger, and that makes them as easy as picking up a piece of chocolate, which is how they're going to feel as soon as you start reading the first one in this Ruby Ring series, "Eternal Vows."
I liked this romance novel!  What, you say?  I'm not a great fan of sloppy romance novels.  You always hear that from me. A big part of that happens to be in the way romance is written.  I enjoy a good story well told, with some love and romance in it as much as the next woman. But it's just got to be written tastefully and it's got to be sexy, not stupid.  I love that Chrissy isn't stupid!  Daring and a little dashing...I can take.  And sassy with a little spitfire I can take even better!  I like the panache Chrissy has in her dialog, and I like that she has a fearlessness about her.  She writes well, and she chooses to do her writing around subjects that are uplifting and romantic.  She also chooses not to forget how strong minded women are, and I like that very much!I loved reading "Eternal Vows," and I'm on my way to reading "Eternal Destiny."  Sarah is a winning character who will not only win the heart of her Victor, but will no doubt win lots of reading fans.  She's won me over.  I'm now a fast fan of Chrissy Peebles and her Ruby Ring series.  Contemporary story with medieval twist of a timewarp...and a heroine that slips easily into her woman-in-charge skin no matter which era she's in.4 stars for sparkling fun!Deborah/TheBookishDame

Very interesting review and makes me want to read the book! I love a splash of romance and intrigue and this review doesn't give away too much. I've seen the video trailer and now I've got to get the book. Thanks.

Fantastic insight into your book and into who you are. Really enjoyed reading the interview. I am hopelessly romantic, but love depth in my romances. A touch of gothic is also always appreciated. I think the romance genre needs to break out and not be afraid to challenge the boundaries a bit, intellectually speaking.
